Addicted to Framelits

So Stampin' Up! has these items called Framelits. They are little metal frames that you use with your Big Shot. How they work is that you stamp your image on cardstock, then line up the framelit over the top, run it through the Big Shot and it cuts it out perfectly in the shape. It's not hard on the hands like punches can be and the edges are smooth. Sometimes punches get a little dull and leave a rough edge. You can fix that by punching through heavy duty aluminum foil but the framelits are really nice. They also store in a much smaller space. I showed off the altered paper clips I made a few days ago in the blog hop for vc_rocks. The candy cane was cut with the Holiday Framelits. There are a few more shapes in that collection. When you first look at the price of the framelits (around $26.00), it seems too pricey but when you think of each piece as a punch then the cost is much better. After all, punches range from $10.95 - $17.95 each. The Holiday framelits have a: candy cane, tree, mug, gingerbread man, star, and a little steam cloud. They come in their own package but I like to store mine close at hand. So I added magnet tape (from the hardware store) to the inside of my stamp case and stuck my framelits right inside the matching stamp set.

I know it's August but I'm going to the Lansing Regionals in November and Christmas will be here before I know it too. So I've been stamping and cutting candy canes for a project yet to be named. Framelits are so easy to use. Just stamp the image and line up the framelit over the top. Run it through the Big Shot and out it comes, perfect. Even has a tiny frame of cardstock around the stamp. Just as we stampers like it.

My candy canes have also been clear embossed. Aren't they pretty? I just stamped the cane in Real Red first. Then I lined up the stamp and stamped over the top in Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. They look almost good enough to eat. I have one more tip for using the framelits. They tend to slide around on the cardstock when you put them through the Big Shot so I line them up on the cardstock and stick it down with the sticky edge of a Post-it note. Holds it securely and yet doesn't leave any sticky residue to deal with later.
The Holiday Framelits are in the Holiday Catalog. You can purchase them from my website or through me by calling or emailing.. The item # to buy them on their own is #127814 and they are $24.95. The matching stamp set is called Scentsational Season and is available in wood mount- #121026 and is $18.95. It's also available in clear mount #121190 and is $14.95. With this catalog, Stampin' Up! is offering bundle prices. So buy the two together and save a bundle(15% off the set). Wood mount bundle is #129945 and is $36.95. Clear mount bundle is #129946 and is $32.95.

My profits in the months of August and September will be going towards my fundraising for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. You may also choose to donate directly to me or to my team. My team name is: Always Loved, Never Forgotten and you can look us up www.outofthedarkness.org If you forget the team name, you can look it up under my name as well. Thanks for your support!

And Thanks for dropping by to see me today!
