Posts

OK, I've tried Facebook and I like it. Somewhat. This is a better option to get my point across and shoe odd what I make. I'm having surgery this week for a hernia repair and then I will be stuck at home for a while. It'll be a goof time to make some cards and plan for Spring and Summer craft shows. Plus fill my Etsy shop. Maybe that's too ambitious but we'll just have to wait and see. Anything has got to be better than 3 years between posts

The Future of YOUR Business

Hi- It's been a very long time since I did any blogging here. I have been working on other diversions and social media. However, I am back. I'm back with a new attitude and a new vision for the future of June's Creations. I've been meeting with various networking groups; creating the new me. This new me is way better for you. Why? The new molded me is about making the world better for YOU and for me. I get to do the things that I love. I get to be artsy and creative in lots of ways and you get to be the awesome person who gives something unique, handmade, and not the same as anyone else's. Where do you start? You start with a card. Yes, that's right, a card. What kind of card? A greeting card. For a birthday, a wedding, Get Well, Thank You, Praying for you, Thinking of you, etc. They are sweet, fun, sentimental, romantic, professional, personable. A handmade greeting card is all of those things and more. Anyone can go to a card store and buy a card. They...

A Birthday Party Craft

Image
Wanted to tell you about the birthday party I did. The party was for a girl just turned 10, her friends and siblings. They each used the Butterfly Basics stamp set, our kraft notebooks and washi tape. Most of the tape came from Stampin' Up! but I picked up some locally too. I have to say that I won't be doing that again. I got 3 rolls from Stampin' Up! for $5.95 and they coordinate with each other and our colors. I did pick up the newest set from the Occasions catalog. 5 rolls (5 yards ea) for $7.95 Sweet Dreams Designer Washi Tape Colors include: Basic Gray, Crisp Cantaloupe, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon and Sahara Sand # 137787 Here's the sample I made using the Sweet Dreams Set: When I stopped by the local drug store, I found that their rolls had 5-8 yards each but they were $3.99-$5.99 per roll. I was super disappointed that I paid that much (total without tax- $14.97) for 3 rolls just so I could have some bolder options. The girls had fun though and I did too....

Butterfly Basics- Stamp set info and card

Image
I love this set. It's got butterflies, a fern, flowers, background stamp, accents, words. 11 total stamps. Everything I need. This I bought the matching thinlits too. I'll post what I did with that later. Here is the stamp and the first card I made. Remember that you can order in your pjs, whenever you want, from my website: www.junereister.stampinup.net

Fancy Folds and 3-D items: Birthday Ideas

Image
I signed up to do the Blog Hop for vc_rocks. It's all about using fancy folds and 3-D items. Here's a couple things I did recently. Be sure to click on  VC_Rocks blog  to see all the blogs with great ideas. This is the card closed. It's 4 inches by 4 inches all folded. This is the inside. The Happy Birthday stamp can be found in the Age Awareness stamp set #135381 It's a photopolymer set (clear and very sticky) $15.95. You can purchase it from  June's Stampin' Up! website   I call this card a box fold because it folds like you would close a box when you don't have tape. Be careful when tucking in the last corner. Since this card doesn't have open edges, it would be a great place to add confetti to surprise someone. Here's a cute candy box that you can add a gift to. It's the perfect size for some tootsie rolls, other small candies, chap-stick, lipstick, etc. I made it with the envelope punch board. I started with a piece ...

Home from Vacation

Image
Had a fine time in North and South Carolina. Now I'm home and starting to stamp again :)   Here's some photos from our trip. I will post what I've been stamping tomorrow. Now, just enjoy what we saw on the trip :) We have a beautiful country. Love the mountains and the trees.  The first mountains we saw on the drive down. We started in Northwest Indiana and drove through Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.  Interesting to see the layers of stone. This was in Kentucky Atlantic Ocean- View from our hotel room at the Landmark Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. Palm trees in South Carolina. They are everywhere and very beautiful. Hollywood wax museum in Myrtle Beach. We didn't go in but had to stop to take pictures of King Kong :) Shoes belonging to members of our group. Best to not carry tons of sand around inside of them. My daughter having a good time in the ocean. She got swimmer's ear b...

In the gutter

Image
No, not what you first think. It's not my mind (or yours). What is it then? It's my ribbon. I bought a length of gutter, cut it down and attached it to the wall with brackets. Then I added end caps. I put some Tombow glue to secure them on and Viola! they're up and easy to use. I used to have a box but then I got too much ribbon. Stampin' Up! had some ribbon storage things but, as a demo, I was always taking the rolls out to show them to customers and snapping and un-snapping the case wasn't working for me. I do have some left though. I will sell them to anyone who wants them for a reasonable offer. Drop me a line and we'll talk. In the meantime, it's the end of the stampin' year and time is sunning out to buy your favorite things. Some things will carry over to the new catalog and some will not. I've gotten to see the new book and I will say that one of my favorites from the Occasions catalog will be returning and I'm excited. It's th...

Rose wreath

Image
I've really been neglecting my blog. Why? I got a Facebook business page and it's really easy to post something small on it and move on. The problem is....not everyone has facebook, people who have it don't respond to invites to Like my page and it's hard to do some things there. So I'm back here trying to make it work again. My facebook page is:  www.facebook.com/junescreations2 So, what have I been up to? I've been playing with the spiral die for the Big Shot. It makes the cutest flowers. I renewed my vows recently and made favors for everyone with a felt rose on top.  Then I taught a class on making a summery wreath. I used flowers from punches, paper roses made from the spiral die and more felt roses. This time I used multiple colors of felt and fleece. I will offer the class again in June. Spiral Die- Item # 129379 Looking forward to seeing you all again. Thanks for stopping by! June

August's Best of 25 set and FB page info.

Image
I've had a business page attached to my my Facebook account for over a year now but I really didn't know how to use it. When I went to the Stampin' Up! 2013 Convention, I learned a lot on how to use it, this blog and other tools to help me boost my business. I'm excited to try everything out. This is a double post because I posted this on my Facebook business page as well. I really need for my customers to be able to see what I'm doing wherever they can. So, if you have facebook, feel free to like my page. There will be all sorts of Bonus offerings listed there. Some will still be listed here but I'd like to save the blog for ideas on how to use your products, see my samples, see my For Sale retired stamps and products list, and get ideas. I've been trying to post the monthly specials on my F/B page. Maybe I should offer the specials here too. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think about that. Here's the Best of 25 stamp set for August: ...

New! Custom Stamps!

Image
For everyone who has ever asked me if we have a custom stamp. Yes, we do! I'll be making a cricket for my daughter, a unicorn, and who knows what else. Girl Scout stamps, logos for your business, etc, etc, etc. There's a stamp carving party in the near future. We're going to have a lot of fun. You can purchase your own kit on my website if you can't wait until then.  www.junereister.stampinup.net Stampin’ Up!’s new stamp carving kit makes it easy to express your personality, thoughts, feelings, etc. with a stamp you've carved all on your own!  http://s.tamp.in/stamp-carving This is one of the fun new products we got to see and try out at the Stampin' Up! Convention 2013. It was fun to watch as we saw a bacon stamp being carved and then stamped next to eggs. Her set also included doughnuts. There's bacon salt, bacon t-shirts, bacon dice, and almost anything else you can come up with. Now you can make your o...

Paper Bag Album- Girl Scout Style

Image
Several people have asked about the paper bag albums and what to put in them. The basic answer is anything you want to save. A summer album might have pictures of fun things you did during the summer like swimming, boating, surfing, or maybe just a backyard bbq with friends and family. Pockets hold tags with more photos, ticket stubs, pressed flowers in sealed bags, etc. You attach the photos with photo safe adhesive. Elmer's glue will eat the photos or at least make them warp and not look so nice. I have some adhesives that work really well. You can buy them on my website or contact me and order direct. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A few years ago, my scouts made their own paper bag albums. They showcased the fun things we did during the year. I brought in lots of scrap paper, foam pieces, stamps and punches. Then each girl made their album base. I punched holes and they tied them together with ribbon. All through the year I took pho...

10,000 Views.......

Image
I'm excited! Sometime over the weekend, I hit 10,000 views. A couple of months back I switched my views to not include when I come to check. So it went back down. However now I have over 10,000 so I will be doing a drawing.......Comment and tell me things you'd like to see on my blog. Give me a way to contact you so I can send you a prize. I will draw a name in a week, so get your comments in by Sunday April 14th or at least by the time I'm awake on the 15th. What is here: A pack of 6x6 prints (colors shown). Some pages were loose so I pulled them to show off the colors. It includes More Mustard which is one that is retiring.. I bought way more of these than I needed. Also a pack of felt pieces from the Sweet Pea collection. Just one of those things I saw and wanted and then never did anything with. So someone else can make use of them. After I get 3 comments, I will add 1 more item to the goodie bag. Then I will add another item for every 2 comments a...

Reuse, Renew, Recycle.....Go!!!!

Image
I'm participating in a Nature/Recycle craft show this year. It's the first Saturday in May and will be in Hammond, IN at the Jean Shepherd Center. So I will be using things we normally throw away or send to the recycling centers in my art projects. First thing I have photos of are one of my favorites.... paper bag albums. They're a great way to use leftover lunch bags (don't use ones that had either a banana or peanut butter inside) and scraps of designer series paper. I just pick a theme and a color scheme and start working. They're really easy, fun and addicting to make. Then I give them as gifts or offer them for sale. People who don't craft love them because all the have to do is add photos and attach whatever elements I include (card candy, ribbon, etc). They have a quick and easy album in less than an hour. This one is a holiday themed album. I used Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla for the colors. The snowmen w...

It's Time for the Spring Treasure Hunt!

Image
Remember the last Treasure Hunt? You saw my post, collected the clue, went to the L ate N ight S tampers (LNS) list and viewed other blogs on the list, collected clues from those, made a list, gathered 50 clues, and emailed me your list of clues. I then put your name into the drawing and some people won free stuff. I also offered blog candy on my blog and drew a name for a free roll of ribbon. This time will be the same but we'll draw for something else. I love giving away free stuff! Don't you love getting it?  Here's the image for the Treasure Hunt. You will find this image on each of the clues. Your list of clues will include the clue and who's blog you found it on. As a bonus, you will get to see lots of great samples and techniques. My clue for the Spring Treasure Hunt is the Simply Scored. I have owned other scoring tools in the past but this is the best one I've tried. I own the basic Simply Scored which has score markings every 1/8th inch, uses a styl...

Valentine's Class

Image
We had a lot of fun at my Valentine's Class. I offered an extra card to anyone who was registered by last Friday. Class was on Wednesday. It snowed so I had some no shows but the rest of us had fun. First card I'm showing is from the Henry Says.... set. It features Henry/Henrietta and a googly eye. I stamped her on Wisteria Wonder and cut her out. Isn't she cute? We also made a cute envelope and note from the Simply Sent kit. The kit came with pre-scored dsp for the envelopes plus dimensionals  circle cut-outs, baker's twine and a little note card. Perfect to tuck into a shirt pocket, lunch bag or even the visor in the car. We followed the exact directions in the kit for this one. Quick and simple. I was asked for a a cute gift that could be given to a teacher, friend, or classmate. I offered pencils or Tootsie Rolls to put into the skinny bag. We topped the bags with a glitter heart and the Valentine's heart. Everyone loved it and ...
